I
have had no complaints with my local consultancy company, why
then should I consider Arden?
Arden brings its peerless standards to every project. Arden is
focused, with
no plans to enter into all areas of computers and technology.
This focus allows us to concentrate our energies on keeping
abreast of relevant advances and options. In addition, our
clarity of purpose allows us time to train ourselves in
pertinent new technologies so that we don't just recommend -
we know firsthand.
How
do we know that Arden can be counted on to do what it claims?
An "unknown quantity" is just that -
until it is tested. Make an appointment to speak to an Arden
representative or send us an e-mail. We are sure that Arden's range and quality of skills and services will surpass those of our competitors.
It
is one thing having a design with recommendations - do we
necessarily need to buy the systems suggested by Arden from
Arden?
The same question should
be applied to taking a hardware vendor's recommendations -
both scenarios should give room for thought. But whereas hardware
vendors are generally tied to their suppliers, and therefore
operate on lucrative margins, Arden gets no "kickbacks"
from its sales and so can ensure that you get the best equipment
at the best prices.
How
can we be sure (not knowing ourselves) that Arden really
understands our situation and is properly analyzing and
considering all the issues and requirements?
There is only one way to
be sure, and that is by doing. Choose three IT consultancy
companies, including Arden, and compare the questions asked
and recommendation reports received. We are pretty sure that
having seen Arden's work in a comparative context, you will be
impressed by our exhaustive research and the thoroughness and
relevancy of our recommendations.
Wouldn't
we have a surer guarantee of quality if we were to go with a
large consultancy company?
A large firm is not a
guarantee of quality - sometimes just the opposite. Big
corporations often have to be many things to many people and
this fractured focus can be a peril to your project. In
addition, you can usually expect to pay high rates without
necessarily knowing what, if any, "superior"
services were performed. Accountability has a tendency to
decrease as the size of a company increases.
How
can we be sure that Arden has performed the tasks set out?
Our documentation sets
out all of the work we have done
and
is always
explicit and transparent. Arden rigorously documents all sections
and aspects of a project so that you are well informed as
to how we went about our job and what we did. This degree
of detailed reporting means that you are never "locked
into" Arden but can at a later date, seamlessly bring
another company or other consultants in to a project.
Is
higher price an indication that I will receive faster, better
connection service from an ISP?
Not necessarily. Higher
prices sometimes indicate that the provider has invested in
fast connections, such as T3 or higher bandwidth links. The
mere presence of such links, however, does not guarantee that
your connections will be faster. A
poorly designed combination of high-speed links and low-speed
clouds, for example, might affect the overall performance
of the provider negatively.
The
bottom line is that price is just one factor to consider. More
important is a sound network topology that offers enough
redundancy and adequate bandwidth to fit your needs.
What
causes bottlenecks in the ISP's backbone?
Bottlenecks are caused
by an over-subscription or over-utilization of a bandwidth
on a physical link.
